Mobile Optimization Important for Business
Mobile optimization is exploding with opportunities for digital marketing in Utah, but despite the growth in smart phones and tablets, most Utah companies do not have a mobile-friendly website. The good news for Utah marketers is that mobile optimization has been identified as the number one most exciting digital opportunity of 2013, so you better jump on board.
These results were discovered by a recent study from Econsultancy and Adobe. The survey asked more than 700 digital professionals about upcoming challenges and opportunities in digital marketing. For 2012, social media marketing was ranked number one, but mobile optimization has trumped for 2013.
Mobile optimization had 43 percent of the vote with social engagement and targeting, and personalization tied for second place. Other opportunities that were noted included content marketing and marketing automation.
In comparison to the results for 2012, content optimization, brand building, video marketing and social media analytics lost emphasis. Although the survey responders ranked these as lower opportunities, these areas should not be deemed less worthwhile. These kinds of digital marketing trends are more important than ever, but prioritization of marketing tactics should be taken into consideration. When looking at what is to come, mobile optimization deserves some undivided attention from Utah marketers.
Mobile devices are becoming the number one screen choice for Utah consumers young and old. Younger mobile users are the future demographic to market towards. According to a study by FunMobility, 69 percent of teenagers said their mobile device is more important than any other electronic devices. If companies in Utah have not created a mobile-friendly website or an email version of a newsletter, it is time to get on it.
It is also a good idea to consider the larger mobile strategy. Take a look at any data that shows website traffic and how many of the visitors are viewing from a mobile device. Also take into consideration your own mobile habits. You might be able to perfect your mobile optimization strategy based not only on your target audience, but on your own mobile habits as well.
Implementing a mobile-friendly website is not the only strategy. It's also important to understand what kinds of devices your consumers are using to access information, what kind of information they are searching for and how you can deliver that information in a user-friendly manner. Having an efficient mobile optimization marketing strategy is key to taking advantage of the number one digital marketing trend for 2013.
