4 Herbal Homemade Facial Masks For Acne
Author: Mia Gordon
Acne is often treated with pimple washes that can be drying or irritating for skin. Many people have sensitivities to the ingredients in acne washes and want to find natural alternatives to chemical or synthetic treatments.
Thats where ingredients like honey, turmeric and yogurt are useful. They are naturally antibacterial and/or antimicrobial. Many herbs like basil and rosemary or lavender also contain antibacterial properties that can be used in acne masks.
Some fruits also help to reduce acne bacteria by retarding its growth. Fruits high in salicylic acid like strawberries, raspberries, grapes and tomatoes are a natural source of salicylic acid, a common active ingredient in acne products. Bananas are high in potassium, another natural bacteria retardant.
Essential oils including tea tree and lavender oil are on the list as the most potent, powerful antibacterial/antimicrobial natural ingredients as is colloidal silver.
Coconut oil is one more bacteria fighting fantastic ingredient that you can add essential oils or honey to make a potent yet moisturizing wash or homemade facial mask.
