More Free Traffic
If your business has an affiliate program, having an affiliate manager is essential. Why? Because the affiliate manager oversees the affiliate operations and is responsible for creating traffic to your website. And, as you know, more traffic means more sales.
What An Affiliate Manager Does:
The affiliate manager's job is to enlist new affiliates and manage the day-to-day aspects of your program.
An affiliate manager has 3 major tasks:
(1)Scouting for new affiliates,
(2)Motivating your affiliates to sell.
(3)Running your affiliate operations. Below are examples of the things a good affiliate manager does:
* Produces collateral materials
* In charge of communications with affiliates
* Writes follow-up mailings
* Monitors incentive programs
* Administrative work (creating rebrandable files, etc.)
* Distributes content
* Produces blog content, even posts content
* Whatever else you need for your affiliate program
How To Compensate Your Affiliate Manager:
You can pay your affiliate manager a wage, by the hour, OR, even better would be to pay them a portion of the overall profit she brings in. That way it costs you nothing if she doesn't achieve any sales for you, but if she wishes a lot of money, she's going to have to create a lot of sales. Now that is incentive to do a good job!
How To Get An Affiliate Manager:
Probably the easiest way to find an affiliate manager is to post a public or private message in an affiliate forum. The people reading the forums are more likely to know what the role entails than if you ran an ad in your local newspaper. Besides, your affiliate manager does not have to be in your home town; after all, this is an Internet field.
Another way is to read through your favorite affiliate program forum to find a person. Look for someone who appears to have experience and/or knowledge in the affiliate process and send them a private offer.
Affiliate manager is a critical position in your business if you want to make more revenue. Hiring one will not only get you more business, but will allow you the time to come up with new things and products to help you grow. As Michael Gerber of E-Myth fame says, It'll give you time to "Work on your business, NOT in it". Sound advice.
