Restaurant Menu Design is the most important feature for any successful restaurant business. Menu design layout is the visualization of the restaurant itself. It reflects the unique branding image of the restaurant over the competitors. Designers should try to make a good first positive impression on the Menu design. The most important thing to consider while designing restaurant menu is the targeted customer, in which audience & demographics you are going to offer menu meals. Menu design layout should be well organized, clear and concise to make greater readability and order process effortless.
Creating a Menu design should also express a restaurant's personality and make the customer satisfied with her experience there so she will want to come back and recommend it to her friends and family. Take the required time and be attentive to detail when coming up with promotional strategies and ideas for creating an effective
• Pick a theme-based menu style. Reflect the restaurant's personality by matching the theme of the menu to the theme of the restaurant. For example, if your business is a classy Italian restaurant, then your menu might have a background of Italian imagery accommodated with various large Italian Old-style or cursive calligraphy texts. By keeping consistency with all aspects of the restaurant, costumers will leave with a strong enough impression after the waiter or waitress walks off with the menu and after they are done with their meal.
• Select attractive menu text font and colors. Match them with the restaurants theme. A classy Italian restaurant font text may use a special type of cursive writing, such as Mistral or Monotype Corsiva, and a font color of that closely matches Italian red wine, such as Burgundy or dark red. Make the print size large enough so customers can read the menu options with ease. Add any photographs or artwork in non-invasive areas that may enhance the quality of the text font and color as well as the overall menu design.
• Choose colorful names for menu dishes. Appetizers, entrees and desserts should come with unique names that grab the attention of the customer and get him excited to order food. For example, "Grilled Chicken" sounds plain and bland, but "Garlic and Herb Seasoned Grilled Chicken" sounds more enticing and appetizing. Every word counts when selecting the names for the menu dishes, so choose them wisely. Words that are descriptive and vivid, such as crunchy, spicy or creamy, will be more effective compared with words that are general and uninteresting, such as good, great or delicious.
