Indian Knowledge and Frauds

Iktomi:

Another and somewhat longer term correspondent of mine is a Lakota Sioux Traditionalist in the adopted family of Fool's Crow or Black Elk. There are many New Age Indian gurus which I have asked her about, including Red Elk. Here is her response to one of these people's message. The Morning Star mentioned in this quote is Venus and the Mayan calendar has a Short Count which accurately understood the transit of Venus. Venus is also important to the anointing of leaders at New Grange and in Crete as we have quoted Joseph Campbell finding this most remarkable thing. Genetic research dealing with the Haplogroup X marker shows the Sioux are white Keltic people and I show the Iroquois are as well through other sciences.

"Modern new age bunk. They obviously don't know who Iktomi REALLY was! I gaar-oon-tee he ain't ANYTHING a real Sioux wants to identify with! Iktomi was a low down skunk of a totally amoral trickster. He committed murder, cannibalism, incest with his own daughter, lied, cheated and stole from anyone to better his own personal gains. He was a letch, a brainless idiot, had no concept of consequence or socialized behaviour. He was the grand anti-example brought up to all young folk as how NOT to live, proceed or act. The Spider web was perceived as a trap, not a connection. (In the few warrior dance costumes that sport the spider theme, it is with the idea of trapping and tricking the enemy without getting caught yourself.)

Iktomi, the poor bastard, was cursed with a silver tongue, is all, to do his con-jobs; and for that, WakanTanka picked him out to be the all-language messenger to the Red Nations to warn of the impending Euro-arrivals. Because of his bad reputation, not all People chose to pay attention to the warning, thinking it just another one of his tricks. No, some upstart wannabes have gone off on their own psycho-trip here, latching their own hope-inspired, ignorant impressions to the Spider image. If they wanted to be correct, all they speak of here IS incorporated into the Morning Star tradition of the Sioux. It is the Morning Star as the inspiration to enlightenment and community bonding, from nuclear, to familial, to Clan, to Tribe, to State, to Country to World Village concept... all the flowery language below is already incorporated into the Morning Star and its symbol, the eight pointed star-pattern {Found on the Tarim Red-Head pictured in National Geographic and noted as the Escutcheon of the Royal House of Mu.} seen on ceremonial quilts. It represents the most intimate bond from Mother to newborn all the way thru responsibility to the Global Environment.

There is no need to invent a webpage full of pirated concepts to say what the Natives already have in their own Tradition. Iktomis like this are what irk me to no end. They are trying to find a buck in all this, one way or another! Hmmmph! ;-) ok, down off my soapbox!"

"That spiritual power I wear is much more beautiful and much greater. We call it wisdom, knowledge, power and gift or love. There are these four parts to that spiritual power. So I wear those.

When you wear that power it will beautify your mind and spirit. You become beautiful. Everything that Tunkashila creates is beautiful." --Wallace Black Elk, LAKOTA
