Randomness Versus Predetermination
Science is inherently a series of experiments within closed systems. A known starting points, then a prediction on what will happen based on a set of starting parameters. Once the prediction can be reproduced this is gauged as fact. The universe itself is a system, which in essence had starting parameters, which as a common consensus is deemed to be 'The Big Bang'. Predicting how a series of 50 coin flips will turn out (either heads or tails or edge) is nigh on impossible. Each flip takes into account many parameters (the force of the flip, height from the floor, air pressure, side winds, floor material etc). The coin doesn't have free will, but it is 'controlled' by the parameters at any one time. The starting parameters dictate how it will fall. As you go through life, each decision you make, every action you take is predetermined by previous parameters, which each could be seen as 'starting' parameters for the specific time in place you are. If you are at a turning, you can go either left or right. You think about it, you rely on experience, your memories to dictate which way you will go. Is left to a meeting which you are late for? Is right to the toilet? Do you know that going left is dangerous? These questions go through your mind based on what you know and what you need to know about the 'choice' you have. You wouldn't turn left if you knew you would die. You wouldn't turn right if the meeting room was to the left and you were late for a meeting there. Unless another factor overrides that. Maybe you need the toilet more than going to the meeting. Therefore I propose that there is no such thing as free will. Everything is determined by what has happened previously. Even if you were in sensory deprivation (with no idea of what is to the left or right) and had to make a choice, you would base it on previous experience. Free will is an illusion which is dictated by previous experience. Free will is only an assumption. Personal perception of history dictates your movements and choices. Written By: Richard Hawkins

What are the Biggest Solar Projects? Solar power will be necessary for space exploration and off planet colonies on the moon and Mars in the next few decades and our advances here on Earth will assist us with the knowledge we need to power them up. Some may not realize but we have come a long way in our solar technology in the last few decades and we are now ready to take this experience and knowledge to the next level; to build something out of this world. Is Thought Evident in Plants? Who would have thought that a plant could be a witness to a crime - and even testify against the perpetrator? Well, it is true! In the early 1970's experiments were done on ordinary houseplants, by researchers who connected a polygraph machine to a plant. An interesting thing happened - the researchers discovered that their plants actually recognized their owners, they responded to being talked to and praised, and they also fainted when exposed to negative thoughts or words, or violence directed at them. How to Build a Mechanical Bullet Which Turns A Mechanical bullet, which will turn in flight is well within our technical capabilities. The premise is to have a bullet, which is preset to turn a corner can be achieved thru a small gear setting on the bullet or a preset finger on the barrel or in the chamber which can be dialed in prior to discharge. Earthquake and Disaster Delays in Scientific Innovation In our present period we are continually reminded that we live on the surface of the planet and with that great honor comes issues of Mother Nature we must deal with. It is a fair trade off, as you get sunshine, warmth and heat from the sun; water, fish and surfing opportunities from the ocean and the stars, moon and cosmos to propel thought, enlightenment and understanding of who we are and perhaps some insight into why we are here. Making Diamonds Using The Earth We can make diamonds using the Earth's inner forces, extreme pressure and heat. We simply send Carbon Blocks in tubes, which have been drilled into the Earth's Mantle. Space Probes Speed Up Recently scientists were amazed that the space probes now leaving our solar system suddenly started to speed up? They should not be surprised because the gravity from the sun pulls in material from around our solar system and then compacts it. Just like our atmosphere is more concentrated closer in. Enemy UAV Defense is under consideration Unmanned Aerial Vehicles should be shot down from the air rather than the ground because if they are flown tele-robotically the operator who is looking down and forward will not know where the anti-aircraft device is. If the enemy uses Unmanned Aerial Vehicles to draw fire, which is a smart move for them, then once fired upon the Unmanned Aerial Vehicle whether it is shot down or not has now located our weaponry and troops. Preventing Flooding on Individual Farmers Fields to Save Crops I propose permits be given to farmers to they can set up along the edge of their fields a microwave array to burn a hole in the clouds when severe weather threatens their crops. I would propose that this concept be completely privately funded and be done in conjunction with the FAA. UAV Blimps Powered By Hydro-Electric Motors Using Hydro and Fluid Dynamic Theory I believe it is possible to design a pilot-less hydro-electric blimp which would have a propulsion system which never requires fuel and would be based on a Perpetual Motion Machine which uses fluid dynamics in a hydro-electric. First the shape of this thing would be similar to the new shopping mall shade cover on the Las Vegas Strip. Cloaking a UAV in Flight If you will recall the Klingon Space Craft and Warship cloaked it's self as it attacked the USS Enterprise under Captain James T. Kirk. Travertine Information Travertine is a compacted form of limestone that forms in rivers and hot springs. Water, especially river water, has a lot of minerals in it. After the most recent assault on the International Terrorists and insurgents in Falluja, Iraq the United States Military and the US Trained Iraqi Security Forces put to good use the methods of Urban Combat. Aerodynamics and Hydrodynamics of the Marine Life and Uses for AI, UAVs, Robotics, and the Future Air has 750 times less density as the oceans, yet so many of the same principles apply there as well. We are quite familiar with marine life and the performance abilities of sharks, dolphins, penguins, fish, alligators, etc. The Bermuda Triangle and Antarctica The art or science of metallurgy is vital to the social structures surrounding all esoteric beliefs. They are the most tangible items of the cosmic soup that are possibly drawn to certain Earth Energy Grid locations as we shall see. Rover Stuck on Mars? NASA scientists had to solve a relatively common problem hear on Earth with the Rover on Mars. What do you do when you are stuck in the sand? Anyone who has ever raced off road or owned a 4X4, dune buggy or ATV understands these issues. Brain Waves Activating to the Tune of a Different Drummer? Well, here is a most interesting thought. There are many who have heart murmurs from birth and many with heart murmurs, which are not negative from a health standpoint. Life Under Mars Ice Shelf? When looking for life on Mars we should be thinking of how life forms on Earth. Not because it will be similar, although it possibly could be, but because we know the things, which inhibit life and the things which help it flourish. DNA Testing Has Changed Everything Since its discovery 20 years ago, the use of DNA for human identity and relationship testing has emerged as a powerful tool in both civil and criminal justice systems. DNA testing can reveal whether two or more individuals are related as well as determining the nature of their relationship. Living In Arizona Boulders--Where Did They Come From? When most people think of building a secluded home, they think of tall trees and large bushes. But what about boulders?Granite Park, located in Prescott, Arizona, which is in the north central part of the state, is one such place filled with 1. Saving Private Ryan in Iraq - Stop the Bleeding I propose that we give soldiers an ultra thin material, which will either be an undergarment to their uniform or incorporated as a liner within that uniform. This liner in the uniform will be laced with a Blood Coagulation Product. |
