Submarine Propulsion and Internet web sources
Let us discuss the patent for the Submarine, which is now in the public domain, not that any foreign governments ever cared since they have been building them for years. Since my Grandfather built the first Ring Gyro at Stanford Research years back, I think it wise to discuss these things in a modern context. The device he built is now called a Laser Ring Gyro Inertia Guidance system which is not nearly the size of the original the first one ever built by my Grandfather was six feet in diameter and six feet high and was used in a submarine after it was perfected. Today you can make one in a small box with a computer chip about 3 inches by three inches. Proving Moore's Law in more ways than one. So if you were going to build a submarine right now how would you build it? What would power it? What would be its limitations on performance? Could it also fly? Go on land? Who would you pay to build it? How fast could it go? Well we could use a Hydrogen fuel Cell, actually that has already been done and by the way it works fine. No more, Red Octobers, here is some history leading up to this discussion you may find rather interesting. www.milparade.ru/security/117.html Some of this is significant to me because my Uncle was in charge of a Nuclear Submarine in days gone by. Yes, I know interesting family right? There are so many interesting designs for submarines and under water exploratory vehicles and they run on all kinds of different ideas; www.liquefaction.com/subs/ www.fuelcelltoday.com/FuelCellToday/IndustryInformation/IndustryInformationExternal/IndustryInformationDisplayArticle/0,1168,471,00.html You see those darn Germans are always building something cool, but then again so are we; http://web.mit.edu/ctpid/www/Whitney/USA/navsea.pdf www.solidworks.com/html/Company/article.cfm?Id=334 and if any one out there thinks we do not have underwater superiority like we do air superiority www.geocities.com/Heartland/2778/weapons.txt then they have been smoking too much Iraqi grass. In a comparison of possible propulsion units one might ask why not use this technology of Hydrogen cells anywhere that air is not needed. Bingo. http://itri.loyola.edu/subsea/c3_s2.htm this is exactly my thoughts on this matter. You know this really no revelation because we have known about this technology for years; www.iahe.org/Establishment_of_IAHE.htm www.minihydrogen.com/ www.newlondoncountyguide.com/submarines1.htm I mean submarines have been around since before the civil war and Hydrogen Cell technology around the turn of the 1900's that's right? So let us compare types of propulsion that can be used in submarines? How about like a bicycle, people power? Sure it has been done before. http://scilib.ucsd.edu/sio/indexes/subbibl.html and since then we have come with many different types of propulsion all with different characteristics for anti-detection, efficiency, speed and power against currents. www.newlondoncountyguide.com/submarines1.htm www.aticourses.com/advanced_undersea_warfare.htm www.naval-technology.com/projects/tupi/ www.fas.org/nuke/space/c01intro.htm . Did you know that even Pakistan has submarines and it has nuclear weapons? Scary thought right? http://www.pakdef.info/pdnn/news/archives/news94.html And Taiwan too http://www.taiwandc.org/twcom/tc63-int.pdf This is why we need satellites and fast moving unmanned subs to intercept if necessary. But it is difficult that is why drug runners use submarine remote control units to import drugs so no one can detect them; they have the budget obviously; www.postpolitics.com/blogs/archives/000202.html www.globalsecurity.org/military/systems/ship/scn-sub.htm and we are now finding ways to prevent that from happening too. www.fas.org/irp/congress/1989_cr/h891121-drugs.htm www.pittsburghlive.com/x/tribune-review/columnists/steigerwald/s_80587.html There are so many uses for submarines from underwater mining, sea life expeditions, sunken treasure seekers, military safety, under water base building, etc. www.cnn.com/TECH/9707/30/ancient.shipwrecks/ www.peterbrueggeman.com/delta/ www.auditory.org/asamtgs/asa92nwo/3aAO/3aAO11.html How a submarine works is very simple actually. This may account for it's many variants; www.howstuffworks.com/submarine4.htm Submarines are of huge benefits to mankind "Lance Winslow" - If you have innovative thoughts and unique perspectives, come think with Lance; www.WorldThinkTank.net/wttbbs

Fire Escape System Concept What if in the event of a fire the building system started putting out instructions using sound waves of the best possible escape route? Using the pictures on the wall and windows to guide trapped occupants and guide them to the safest exit? It is all possible now due to an old technology which is now being used thru a transfer into the public domain. Smoke inhalation is the number one cause of death in fires. Gerald Hawkins There is something about the Hawkins clan that I like. My most adept and austere teacher was a Hawkins related to Black Jack the Privateer and I wonder if this man who died recently while happily flying his model airplanes is one of them. Earthquake and Disaster Delays in Scientific Innovation In our present period we are continually reminded that we live on the surface of the planet and with that great honor comes issues of Mother Nature we must deal with. It is a fair trade off, as you get sunshine, warmth and heat from the sun; water, fish and surfing opportunities from the ocean and the stars, moon and cosmos to propel thought, enlightenment and understanding of who we are and perhaps some insight into why we are here. Alchemy: Turning Rocks to Gold Since the Middle Ages! Alchemy. Such a misunderstood science. Heads Up Displays and Computer Human Interface Heads Up Displays For High Tech Human Interface Need More Sensory Input to the Brain. We have been studying the HUD - Heads Up Display units for the Apache Attack Helicopter, F-18, Business Jets and thought of it's uses for soccer moms in SUVs in the fog, over the road trucks, Race Cars, Speed boats, Heavy Equipment is crucial mining endeavors. Why Condition Your Boiler Water? A boiler is used for generating steam. It does this by heating water to its boiling point, after which steam will evaporate from it. Tsunami warnings by 2006 Experts from the United Nations and Indian Ocean countries agreed to set up a tsunami warning system to prevent a repeat of the catastrophe that struck on December 26, Unesco said.A fully functioning system that detects undersea earthquakes and broadcasts warnings to coastal communities is expected to be in place by the end of 2006, said Patricio Bernal, executive secretary of Unesco's Intergovernmental Oceanographic Commission, on Tuesday. Atlantis through Science ICE AGES: - The impact of the ice ages and inter-glacial effects on the rise and fall of ocean levels and the earth readjustments to the departure of the ice cap cannot be over-looked in the human historical picture. Research in the area is far greater than in the recent past and we can learn what might have happened to earlier civilizations on earth. Underground Cities, Save the Humans Perhaps we should design tunneling robots, which can dig out an underground city. Unmanned Tunneling robots to build underground cookie cutter cities to save mankind from possible future calamity. Creation CREATION OF ANIMATE FROM INANIMATE: - We have touched upon some scientific dry wells and frauds already. The idea of cold fusion and perpetual motion that the Utah researchers may not have achieved was just dealt with: but a recent report showing a Utah student using Farnsworth's old designs is another example that makes me think Cold Fusion is going to be a reality. Building a Single Unit CO2 Laser Grid When using a CO2 Laser to shoot down an incoming projectile, which enters a safety zone, it will be necessary to hold the laser on the target for about 5 seconds or more. To do this we must be able to shoot the laser in a grid, therefore if the projectile or aircraft or guided missile or even a UAV takes evasive action such as a high- speed high "G" 90 degree turn you can still register a kill on the target. How Satellite TV Systems Originated What we know as satellite tv actually had its origins in the space race which began with the launching of the satellite Sputnik by the Russians in 1957. The first communication satellite was developed and launched by a consortium of business and government entities in 1963. DNA Testing Breaks Down Barriers in the Court Room DNA testing has three major applications for forensic studies: identification of missing persons; identification of victims of wars, accidents, and natural disasters; and crime investigation. Annually, more than 20,000 forensic DNA tests are performed in the UK. Saving People in Disaster Crisis, Concept So often when we see huge Natural Disasters there are many people killed, but for everyone who perishes there are 5-10 people injured; many very seriously. So often too the region of the world were the disaster occurs does not have enough hospital beds, medical professionals or the right equipment needed to help save those lives. Feb. 12 is Darwin Day -- Secular Americans Celebrate Bday of Evolution Champ This Feb. 12 marks the 196th anniversary of Charles Darwin's birth! The day has special significance for America's nearly 30 million nonreligious people. Army Mobile Command Center for UAV Launch After visiting the Denver RC Modeler Club one day as they practiced for the national finals in PHX that year, we attempted a touch and go landing on our Blitz Mobile, which is a 74 foot long NASCAR type truck and trailer. Probably nothing more than a Fighter Pilots son from the cold war wanting to re-invent the aircraft carrier concept on a almost nano scale? We were successful on doing a touch and bounce on the top of the trailer without too much difficulty. What are GE and GMO Crops? Genetically Engineered Organisms and Genetically Modified Organisms, with Monsanto Corporation in the forefront of development. GE crops, including cotton seeds, have genetically modified properties with built-in resistance to herbicides and insects (Bt cotton), and are also called Frankencotton. Lets Get Dirty There is no right way of saying this, so I'll say it the wrong way: in order to stay healthy we must stay dirty. Now, that didn't sound right, did it? Put it this way: if we all lived in sealed apartments where only the purest air was pumped in and every trace of bacteria were eliminated from our food we probably wouldn't last long when we stepped outside. Remote Control Bacteria; We Can Not Allow That. Remote Control Bacteria. Why not, we have remote control everything. What is Dowsing? Dowsing is definitely an intuitive art and one of the oldest forms of divination in the world. Perhaps the oldest and most familiar image we have a dowser is what is called a field or map dowser. |
