Among cellular phone users, the most popular type of ringtone is the MP3 ringtone. This is because MP3 ringtones allow people to use actual song snippets, sound bytes, and voice recordings as ringtones. People can now gain access to MP3 ringtones from a large number of sources that offer all kinds of MP3 ringtones, including ringtones from all music genres, different kinds of sound bytes and other entertaining sound effects. However, if you have unique taste in music, which may mean that you like songs that really do not belong to the popular music genre, finding the MP3 ringtones of some of your favorite songs may be challenging. This is because most websites that offer free MP3 ringtones tend to fill their song lists with songs that have mass appeal and those that are current.
However, people who don't find their favorite song on any song list of free MP3 ringtones, there is a way you can still get that MP3 ringtone they want. This is because today there is software that you can use, which allows you to convert songs from your CD into MP3 ringtones. If you are a Windows user, the first thing you need to do is to download and install software like Audacity and Lame into your computer. After doing so, you then need to insert the CD of the song you want and open the Windows Media Player. In the console, click on the Rip button and rip the specific song you want to convert into MP3 format. The next step is to open the file using the Audacity program and to edit it or cut is depending on the portion of the song that you want to be your ringtone. After this, export the selected portion as a WAV file. The last step is to open the file using the Lame program, click the encode button you have a ringtone to install on your phone.
Nowadays, people need not worry of not being able to find the MP3 ringtone that they want among the different websites that offer free MP3 ringtones. With conversion software, any song can be converted from CDs into MP3 ringtones.
